To the right is me a few months before I tried to lose the weight. 210.5 pounds to be exact. Many people now say - "you weren't that heavy", but believe me I was. One problem I think we all have is many poeple don't realize what 200 pounds looks like. They are imaginaing someone round who can barely move. Well they're probably imagining someone more like 300+ pounds. I certainly was top heavy in the day. Wearing my "favorite jeans" size 22. Now to the left. After losing about 45 pounds, those are the same jeans.

About me

In May of 2008 I weighed 210 pounds. I made a goal to lose 60 pounds. I had been overweight for many, many years. Like many, I had tried and failed to lose weight a few times before. Even more times I had said I wanted to lose weight, but never really tried anything at all. This time I did it. By January 2009 I had met my goal. I went on to lose another 6 pounds after that. It is almost 2 years later and I still have all the weight off. What changed?
I am not a nutrition expert or anything. I am just somebody who was there once trying to change and discovered a lot of things that I wish someone had told me along the way. I only wish to share knowledge & support with those who seek it. I hope not to attract any "hate" posters...you know those people that like to point out spelling & grammer errors , and just generally post snide comments. If you're here to learn a few things or just need an "ear" , that is what this blog is here for.
